High school saxophonist Kodai abandons performing after suffering an anxiety attack during a competition. His mother's remarriage introduces him to his withdrawn new stepbrother, Fuyuki, whose love of guitar helps Kodai confront his fear of the stage as their relationship develops into something more complicated.
